Expert Systems Biology
Biological data is often expensive to collect and difficult to interpret. We use computational approaches that turn data into better decisions, maximizing the value of your research. With our abilities to support communication between biologists, computational biologists, and software developers, we can help increase your productivity and success rate. The BioAnalytics Group team is comprised of experts in scientific software development, biological computer simulation and data analysis. Our customers include pharmaceutical companies of every size, medical device companies, small and large biotechnology companies, and universities. Do you have NIH grants or contracts? Ask us about our subcontracting success stories. History Headquartered in Jamesburg, New Jersey, The BioAnalytics Group LLC offers services and products that feature the use of biological simulation to help design experiments, analyze data, predict the effectiveness and toxicity of therapies, and diagnose the presence and mechanisms of disease. Pharmaceutical and medical researchers use tools based upon the BioPathwise™ systematic approach, with integrated Model-Based Assays™, to solve the most difficult biological data analysis problems. The BioAnalytics Group was founded in 2003 by key members of the simulation technology development team from Physiome Sciences. With a clear focus on solving customers’ most urgent problems in biomedical research, the company has developed a client base and strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech organizations, academic researchers, government funded programs, and diagnostics businesses. Work created through the use of the company’s Model-Based Assay™ system has been published in peer reviewed journals and presented at major conferences. BioPathwise™ 2.0 represents the company’s first commercially available product. It is a tool that integrates both biological and mathematical data in a flexible system that supports collaboration among team members in biomedical research. (more) People G. Scott Lett, Ph.D. As founder and CEO, Dr. Lett provides leadership in developing collaborative relationships with each client. With deep experience in statistical modeling and simulation developed through years in the spacecraft and natural resource industries, he became involved with biological simulation in the early 1990’s. Among other industry roles, he is a member of the NIH Study Section focused on Modeling and Analysis of Biological Systems. Ned Haubein, Ph.D. As Sr. Scientist, Dr. Haubein, has been instrumental in developing The BioAnalytics Group’s image analysis applications and its BioPathwise™ software product. The software and consulting system offers an innovative graphical user interface for integrating biological pathways with complex datasets for biological researchers, clinical developers, and drug safety analysts. A chemical engineer with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, Dr. Haubein has worked in the forefront of modeling development throughout his career. During his tenure at Physiome Sciences in Princeton, NJ, he leveraged his leadership skills working with software developers, the bioinformatics team, and management. After two years as the chief scientist at BIOSoftware Systems in Camden, NJ, where he was responsible for setting up initial company operations, he joined The BioAnalytics Group and is now part of the senior management team. The Extended Team To augment our expertise and yours, we have developed a network of collaborators in many areas of biology and computing. Together, we form project teams that have been very successful in solving customer problems at reasonable cost. We integrate the best available tools—yours, ours, and third party technology— to maximize the value of biological data. Whenever possible, we automate analyses to reduce tedium and human error.
